The hunger games begins with a nice and slow plot, but soon the reader is thrown into a action packed fight to the death or hunger games. I think that Suzanne Collins wrote an amazing series that is adventurous, daring, and definitely will leave you on the edge of your seat! The story is basically about a teenager who is forced to compete in a 24-man-enter-1-man-leaves event. She combines so many topics that will appeal to all audiences, such as fighting, friendship, choices, and even a little romance.

This book was something to think about for days after you finished the trilogy, not something fun to enjoy. The main character is a resourceful sixteen year old girl who volunteers for a battle to the death against 23 other teens. Katniss makes for a fantastic, likeable heroine; She’s a fairly average young woman who shows tremendous resourcefulness when placed in an impossible situation.

I picked up this book with high expectations and I wasn’t disappointed. If you enjoyed Harry Potter you will definitely enjoy this! The story has fantastic and real characters, real emotions, real hardship, and never once could I figure out exactly what was going to happen next. I reccomend this book to anyone who loves action, adventure, and cliffhangers.
